The iPhone 7 introduced water resistance, and there was much rejoicing. However, we saw many confused consumers bringing in water damaged iPhone 7’s. It’s important to remember that water resistant is not waterproof.
The iPhone 8 is resistant up to 1 meter and for up to 30 minutes.
But do not take that as a guarantee.
Consider it more like a seatbelt. A nice safety feature to have in case of an emergency, but you don’t want to drive into a wall to test it out.
If your iPhone 8 comes into contact with a lot of water we suggest you take the following steps:
Step One – Turn off the phone straight away.
Step Two – Place your iPhone 8 in a bowl of rice and the bowl in the sun.
Step Three – Do not turn it back on until you’ve brought it into iMend Phones for an assessment. Turning your phone on could permanently damage it.
